Hi Rob, next week we hope to play a 100 Years War battle but can’t find any rules for archers deploying stakes. Any idea’s or suggestions would be gratefully received. Thanks in advance.

I recall writing some, but the file is on another computer, there were also some lists.

I can’t think what they were off hand but as I fought Agincourt (in 10mm – article was in a Wargames Soldier Strategy magazine) I must have done something useful!

I would treat them as difficult ground (same as woods thinking on it) for mounted cavalry and uneven for infantry.. You could add a bonus to the defender if cavalry charge a unit behind stakes or make them take a morale test.

However, open to suggestions if none of that works!

And yes it would be nice to actually redo the original lists – must find some time!

    Kind Regards

    Hi Rob,
I like your ideas for stakes and will try them as you suggest and let you know how we get on. This game will be in 15mm using half inches as inches.

Yes that works, or 1cm per inch

    Kind Regards
