Post The battle of Domyoji 1615
I have just started writing this up as part of a couple of forthcoming articles for Wargames Soldier Strategy. This scenario would have been in the original 'Divine Wind' and in an expanded form, should eventually make it into the resurrected version of that book

The magazine is due to be published in a couple of months, so I best get on with it!

The issue is now in print and on the shelves I would imagine.

Two articles by me about Samurai, one of which is a historical battle using War & Conquest options

Post Re: The battle of Domyoji 1615
We refought this battle at Reveille on the 24 Nov and it went well.

Please note, as War & Conquest is becoming quite popular, we have a special promotion running until Christmas 2013, you can buy the book at a special price here http://scarabminiatures.com/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=70 and join in all the fun!

War & Conquest makes a great Christmas present and remember all those army lists are FREE, no need to buy anything else (although we have a few plans  )

Here are some pictures. I should note that most of the banners are not historically accurate to the armies involved, but that did not spoil the game

Minis by Dixon (from Steves and my collections), buildings and terrain by Oshiro, John Jenkins, Wargames Table Blog (Matt) and my collection

Deployment - Matt, Steve and Barbara are in the background along with the Scarab trade stand to the right

Goto (on the left) did his job well as a delaying force, destroying a larger unit of Samurai

In the meantime, the rest of the Western army was lost in the fog (scenario special rules) and didn't move- pretty much exactly like history

The battle continues, the Westerners keep shooting and attempting to take the flanks

The Easterners arrive at Domyoji and briefly take command of the village

And then will be beaten back by an Ashigaru formation that were really pumped up!

In conclusion, The Western army sneaked a minor victory, but it was hard fought

Absolutely splendid! 8-)

It was a pity I had to dash off to sort out a flooded kitchen :(

Cheers
