The Magic system and some sample spells to get started.

More spells, Magical artefacts and army lists will starting appearing next week after I have been to the War & Conquest doubles at Gravesend this Sunday- see some of you there!

Battle can now commence, using human lists until the more 'unusual ones' are ready :mrgreen:

Great work rob :D i relay like the potential of this and a nice simple system with the added slim potential that you might burn your own face off!!!!! :twisted: :twisted: haha love it.
Ime off to show this to a bunch of gamers tonight, i think you will have some converts :P

Yes, there is the possibility of your own Magic User dying if you get too greedy and ambitious with your spell casting :mrgreen:

However we might give them access to some artefacts for protection :o , or not :mrgreen:

The Magic and spell files were deleted during the server change it seems, so I have just reloaded them

As of November 2013 - a number of army lists are well under way, but of course its a challenge to avoid copying other companies and avoiding treading on their Intellectual Property.

Apologises its taking a while, but theres lots of other things to do as well..

I was very interested in this development as it is something my group has been toying with.
We started not with a fantasy army but with the historical armies we already have, in my case Imperial Rome, Celtic and Dacian. Our thoughts were-
Roman. Obviously the Gods Mars, Bellona, Nike, but we considered the Vestals and the Goddess Vesta. So obviously flame magic is important, including firing fie demons from a ballista.
Celts. Druid magic relates to all of nature especially forests. Also dark elves, deep ones round the coasts, wolves, and animated dead (love those zombies)
Dacians, Coming from what was to become Transylvania they had to be led by vampires with all their magic, also wolves again. As they had the Draco standard and the name Dracula is derived from the word for a dragon they also have some power over dragons, able it the smaller Draco standard type.
Any one got any further ideas?

Nice ideas and the existing spells will help you bring some of that to life..

I will be interested to hear more ideas along those lines.

When C. Suetonius Paullinus invaded the Druid island of Mona the Romans were faced on the opposite bank by a group of black clad screaming witches casting curses at the invading Romans. As it turned out the Roman resistance to their magic was stronger.
Actual evidence of the use of magic!

I am in the process of rewriting the Magic system and spells and once I have played a game through to check it, I will then upload it ready for action.

It seems not 5 minutes since I started rewriting the magic system, but it is now approaching a new version - finally

I am also drafting a whole bunch of new lists so theres more depth for folks to break out those old fantasy armies
