Post Re: The Army of the Dead
I'd really like to see even a draft of the first undead list. I have a fairly large undead army but hate playing it with other rule sets. My army is mostly a large variety of skeletons including infantry and cav as well as skeleton mammoths, skeleton rhino, skeleton dragons, skeleton dinosaurs (painted kids toys), and 2 old screaming skull catapults. I also have a multitude of necromancers, ghouls, vampires, chariots, and a horde of zombies. Recently I played a game of War & Sorcery with my dwarfs vs my friends orcs and I really enjoyed it. However, I would prefer to use the undead. I'd be willing to play test it with my friend and son and then offer suggestions/feedback.

As for magic here are some ideas. I see the undead host as being raised by powerfull rituals prior to the battle. The spells cast in battle largely enhance the existing units, either by adding to numbers or by invigorating them so that they temporarily fight better or move faster. I also prefer having any reanimation spells be dependent on enemy casualties, they provide the raw material to reanimate. Any damage causing spells would have the benefit of causing the enemy casualties to be reanimated.

Thanks McBane = Old G*t and myself have been talking about this, as his dead horde want to creak into life and we will be having more discussion on the topic this weekend (hopefully) or the following week - the spell cast notes are useful - thank you

Finally, after much debate I have decided on how I would like the Dead to work - thanks to the posters here and Old G*t in particular (and also last weeks Game of Thrones - I did enjoy that episode! ).
I have almost finished the list, I just have to dovetail it in with the rewrite of the Magic system so I can complete the Personalities. I will then play a game, and assuming all is OK, it will be online

I would most definitely like to see this when finished. I am looking for alternative uses for my God of Battles undead army, mostly consisting of ancient GW skeletons and Mantic zombies, and I might want a copy of the W&C rulebook if I like what you come up with!
