Post Re: The Army of the Dead
I am officially back working on this list, still deciding the best way to bring the army to 'life' (or is that death  ) on the table top.

This mainly revolves around the use of spells and so on. Suggestions welcome although raising the dead on the battlefield has to be worthwhile!

List one will feature skeletons, the variants will arrive later.. or sooner, depending on how we get on

After the Andalusian list and a couple of list updates, I will get part one finished and online. So consider it soon,

Suggestions for spells and magic would help propel me forward!

Hi Rob, excellent stuff, hmmm  i will put my thinking head on and give it some thought :?: :?: :?:
How about summoning a cloud of bats that cover say 4" area, could pay an up keep cost to keep in play/move(blocks line of sight  )
The usual raising of skellies/zombies(i know that its in the other game but its fun to irritate your oppo   )
something about sucking the life force out of the enemy perhaps? could be combined with raising the dead?

I will have a ponder :!:

Thanks, I do have a note about summoning a 'swarm' or 'plague' so nice to see someone else thinking along those lines.

Yes I think some form of raise the dead or activation might make it interesting, after all this is a game and folks expect certain things from the undead..

I like the idea earlier about killed enemy adding to your ranks. I think its best for units of zombies but I could also see it working for wights and vampires too. For wights and vampires every casualty the undead unit causes will rise again to join the undead horde.
However, for zombies, maybe they rise again or maybe they were simply devoured. Roll a die for each casualty caused. On a 4+ the casualty is raised and joins the undead unit.
This lets you play out a zombie plague scenario without needing some kind of magic user. The zombies simply show up and the horde keeps getting bigger. Who knows what is causing them...

Hi Mcbane and welcome

currently, I was thinking that zombies would be effectively skeletons or recently raised undead without a master attracted to the army of the dead .. More uncontrollable, but equally far more difficult to shift as they are more traditionally ' b movie zombie like' and just keep coming at you, so the only choice - kill 'em all

The reanimate suggestions sounds OK because in any movie/series we watch the only folks who seem come back as zombies tend to be those killed by other humans, you rarely see anyone covered by a pack/herd of zombies get up afterwards :D

Thanks for that

Hi Rob

I'm getting that urge to raise the Undead and play some War and Sorcery. :o

Do you have an army list for The Undead? Also can you let me know what I need to have a game of War and Sorcery over and above the War and Conquest Rules please?

Thanks

Ken

Ken

you need the Magic system download, and the list once its complete

If you fancy a game to try it out, let me know, Do you have any skeletons, the plastic Wargames Factory ones (the new version) are pretty good at a great price, and of course GW also have quite a few sets.

I just checked my draft list, and see that I already had those killed by zombies rejoining on a 4+
