When it comes to pointing up certain profiles do special rules get taken into account?

So if a unit can enter shieldwall or have 'weight of numbers' is that reflected in their cost?

Special abilities do get taken into account, unless theres a positive and negative effect, in which case then, generally there is no cost

So Shieldwall has no cost attached to it and neither does weight of numbers (as its usually attached to undisciplined and is calculated after a combat is resolved, and is based on remaining rank bonus so its benefit soon fritters away)

Hope that helps

Rob,

What about "skilled warrior" which definitely does have an effect on the game ?

2 points per model

Of course the nice thing about the rule is that if you roll average dice its of absolutely no use  as any reroll involves all the dice - it just helps , and does make you feel like you are really in the action, as it can be a tough decision when to use it sometimes as we have often found at the club - and of course when you roll a worse set of scores than the first attempt, it really is quite amusing for your opponent

Its currently being taken out of a number of lists that I rewrote recently in as it really is only meant for the very best types of troops so its more a case of trying to find lists with it in now

Fair enough.

Just seems a bit of an uphill struggle against the saxons when two of their elite units get shieldwall and weight of numbers without any drawbacks for the same points as my guys who dont get them.

Stew

Which Saxon list are you up against?

I assume its Carolingians you are using?

The Heptarchy list from Age of Warlords.

Yep, still using the Western Franks/Carolingians
