Hi Rob,

In the Carthaginian list Balearic Slingers are listed as having an AV of 3! Is this a mistake? The Republican Roman list has the Balearic Slingers with an AV of 0.

Rob, I'm just completing my republican Roman and Carthaginian armies hoping to fight some 2nd Punic War battles with WAC. The African Veteran spearmen - who I might compare to the Roman triarii although admittedly having Mo8 and Trained Phalanx abilities - seem prohibitively expensive at 22 pts. Obviously you have thought this through carefully but it seems to me that they are very expensive?

They are expensive but they are very good! Morale 8 and drilled bump up the cost somewhat

I could trim them back, would appreciate comments.

Good to hear about the armies, we are stocking Agemas Punic ranges now (about to add all the metal packs over the next week or so) so we will have some deals to hand and I hope to reenergise my own Punic armies as well as write a couple of campaign packs for War & Conquest

Thanks, Rob. I will check out the Agema Punic range. I like the Agema figures but have hesitated to buy them in the past worried that they might not mix with my Victrix models.

They are more slender but look comparable in height.

I took lots of pics at the weekend during the Punic game so will get them posted once I have resized them for the webpage

cheers

Rob

Rob, the Carthaginian lists is still showing Balearic slingers as AV3 (should be AV0?) and Allied Numidian Infantry as AV3 when I think these ought to be AV1, possibly AV2 if you allow a large shield.
