Post Greetings from Maryland
Hi Everyone,

I am a new player from the US who live in Maryland who recently has started the dive into War and Conquest.

I have a couple question I was hoping you could help me with...

1) Are there other players on this site who live in or near me in Maryland who would be willing to game with me?

2) when it comes to basing on page 21 of the rule book it lists that the saxons are based on the n 100mm by 40mm base. This leads me to believe that there are five models each on a 20x20mm base. However later in the book pg 39 it states "that a battle formation must be six models wide to charge" elsewhere I cant seem to find it but I get the impression that six in the minimum unit size. Is this correct? How then Do I make sense of the Saxons listed on page 21? When im making movement trays should the standard size be 120mm frontage?

Thanks so much!

The Saxons are based properly for ten men in two ranks, I think that particular base has been done purely for aesthetic reasons and would no doubt be part of a larger unit as you need figures to remove for casualties and it does not constitute the six figure frontage required for an infantry unit.

I have seen a lot of WAC armies but nothing ever based like that.

Good luck in your search for players, it is a great set of rules.

Welcome aboard

yes that base of 10 figures is part of a much larger formation created on a range of base sizes.

Minimum unit size for infantry is 6 models - page 14 - unit size is the page you need

Maryland - Yes there are folks in the area that have the rules. You might also post on the warandconquest yahoo group to see if that creates a response

Hope that helps
